Health Services at Beclabito Day School

At Beclabito Day School, the health and safety of our students are our top priorities. We have established clear procedures to ensure that all students promptly and efficiently receive the care they need.

Student Illness Procedures

Students need to stay home if they are not feeling well. Keeping sick students at home helps prevent the spread of illness and allows your child to receive the treatment and attention needed for a speedy recovery. Here are the steps we follow if a student becomes ill while at school:

  1. Identifying Illness: If a student shows signs of illness during class, the teacher will send the student to the front office for assessment.
  2. Notification: The office staff will evaluate the student's condition and contact a parent/guardian to arrange for the student's pickup.
  3. Pickup Process: Parents/guardians are expected to pick up their ill child as soon as possible to prevent further discomfort and the potential spread of illness to other students.

Symptoms to Watch For

Please keep your child at home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Persistent cough
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Unexplained rash
  • Severe sore throat or earache

If you are unsure whether to send your child to school, please get in touch with the school office for guidance.

Medical Emergency Procedures

In a medical emergency, Beclabito Day School responds quickly and effectively to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. Here’s what happens during a medical emergency:

  1. Immediate Action: If a student experiences a medical emergency, staff will call emergency services and ensure the student is transported to the nearest health facility or hospital without delay.
  2. Parental Notification: We will notify the parent/guardian as soon as possible, providing details of the situation and the location where the student has been taken.
  3. Staff Support: A staff member will accompany the student to the health facility and remain with them until the parent/guardian arrives.
