Family Involvement at Beclabito Day School

At Beclabito Day School, we believe that parents and guardians are invaluable partners in our students' educational experience. Our Family Involvement Policy reflects our commitment to fostering strong connections between home and school, recognizing the vital role parents and guardians play in supporting student success.

Our Partnership Approach

We view parents/guardians as full partners in the education process. We are committed to:

  • Communication:  Establishing two-way communication channels to promote a strong connection between the school and the community.
  • Planning:  Involving parents/guardians in the development of the school's improvement plan.
  • Evaluation:  Assessing and revising our parent/guardian involvement activities to enhance student achievement and school performance.
  • Integration:  Coordinating workshops and activities to support parents/guardians in their child's education and well-being.
  • Relationships:  We strive to establish strong ties between parents/guardians and the school community.
  • Improvement:  We actively research, adopt and implement best practices for enhancing parent/guardian involvement.
  • Recognizing Parental Roles:  We acknowledge that parents/guardians are key players in their children’s education, serving as teachers, supporters, advocates and decision-makers.

Your Role as a Parent/Guardian

Research shows that students thrive when parents/guardians are actively involved. You can contribute by:

  • Acting as Teachers:  Support your child's learning at home.
  • Being Supporters:  Share your skills and talents with the school community.
  • Advocating for Your Child:  Ensure fair treatment and support for your child's needs.
  • Participating in Decision Making:  Collaborate with the school in problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Parent Advisory Committee

Our Parent Advisory Committee is composed of parents/guardians and school personnel. We hold monthly meetings to develop our Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy and ensure ongoing parent/guardian involvement in school decision-making.

Parent/Guardian-School Compact

The Parent/Guardian-School Compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents/guardians, school staff and students in supporting student achievement. It emphasizes the importance of ongoing communication and collaboration.

How to Get Involved

We invite you to:

  • Attend PAC meetings on the first Wednesday of every month.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and volunteer opportunities.
  • Stay informed about your child's progress and actively engage in their education.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for your partnership!
